On this 142nd anniversary celebration of Shiloh Presbyterian Church, we thank our Lord for the inbreaking of heaven into human affairs, whereby the church came into existence on the day of Pentecost. We give gratitude to you, our Lord, because of your incomparable love.
A love that has sustained Shiloh Presbyterian Church for 142 years for the work of ministry, committed to servicing the church family and community through sharing God’s Love, and by developing and nourishing spiritual growth with the help of the Holy Spirit.
The very fact that a group of Lincoln University faculty wives submitted a petition to the Presbytery of Chester County on April 15, 1874, to consider the possibility of an African American congregation in Oxford, is a glimpse in history of God’s plan for the universal church. God intends for the church to move forward, for the church to always exist, and for the church to play a role in God’s universal salvation plan; where “there is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28).
I’m honored and excited to serve in the role of covenant pastor at Shiloh Presbyterian Church and be a part of God’s mission of proclaiming God’s love, and God’s grace in Christ. We certainly cannot predict the future, but we can rest assured that in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead, that Christ gives to the Church all the gifts necessary to be his body; for this reason alone, we can be joyous and anticipate great things. For Christ alone is the Church’s hope, and we are free to live in the lively, joyous reality of the grace of God.
Happy 142nd Anniversary!
Blessings!
Reverend Donna F. Simmons
We stand today in celebration of the 142nd Anniversary of the founding of Shiloh Presbyterian Church. We look back and we Say, “Thank YOU Lord”. YOU have kept us, you have covered us, you have blessed us, you have seen us through the toils of Life and the historic moments that lay testament to the times that have been blazed into this side of the mountain.
Lord, the hills we have climbed we were able to go up and over only because of you. This journey is not designed for ease, but for the lessons oh Lord, you permit us to experience. We have seen families rise and fall, prosperity and loss, sadness and joy, defeat, and victory, but LORD in all things we rejoice, and we say Thank YOU! IF not for You, through it all these 140 years would look different. Lord because of you, all that we have done to your glory Lord, is magnified, without you nothing would be possible.
We are elated for such a time as this, to sit at your feet Lord and marvel at the magnificent works you have brought forth in the world of the people you have sat in the seats of Shiloh. For the ideas that have touched this community, for every Christmas bazaar, for every turkey dinner, Lord for every yard sale, chicken dinner, fish fry, Thanksgiving basket we provided for families, for every family you helped us to support at Christmas, for every Experience the Taste of Oxford, for every calendar sale, Lord for every baby that was blessed, for each new member for those here and those that have left us for the love of your arms, for every Summer youth program for every Praise Team song, for all of our choral amen, for every beat of the drum and every birthday wish that was provided, for all the testimonies of the saints and every collaboration with an organization that you led us to, for every Women’s day, for every pledge that was made, for every memory garden brick that was laid, for every Boscov’s fundraiser held, for every bake sale that was held, for every proclamation that was read and every poem that was provided, for every example of your love, your kindness and Lord the direction that has placed us on this 142nd year path… Our hearts are happy today, we are joyful at the thought of your love
Still 141 years later being showered down upon us. For whatever the days ahead, we know we have you on our side and Lord we say “Thank YOU”
LORD in Thanksgiving and Celebration, WE SAY Thank You!!
Happy 142nd Anniversary Shiloh!
Blessings

Shiloh is undertaking a Fundraising initiative called “Burn the Mortgage” (BTM). This is being implemented, to help pay down and ultimately eliminate the current mortgage balance on our Community Outreach Center faster. Contributions going to the “BTM” initiative will be applied directly to the principal on the mortgage.
For the calendar year 2023 a goal of $25,000.00 has been established initially with the objective of achieving more funding as this initiative remains in place going forward. Please contribute whatever you can as any amount received is a blessing and gets us a step closer to more quickly eliminating this mortgage. The time when we can “Burn the Mortgage” will be a joyous occasion. We praise the Lord for your contributions and support and thank you in advance.
God’s Blessing to Each of YOU
